My wife and I fell in love with the Riviera Maya on a vacation in 2006 before we started our family and kept coming back with the kids until making the full time move in 2015.  Born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, we moved to Edmonton, AB in 2002 where I sold marble & tile with Julian Tile for 13 years before waking up to realize, I don’t like the cold and the snow.  If we were going to move, we had to do it now or shut up about it until the kids were out of the house – move while they’re young and their voices are small!

More than just the winters, we were also tired of the pace of life that has become the norm, we were looking for a better lifestyle, healthier living, lower cost of living, living outdoors… just a better, overall way of life.

We discovered the community of Puerto Aventuras and decided it would be the perfect place for us to continue raising our family.  A secure, gated community, surrounded by canals, beaches, and green space and me going to work in shorts & flip flops every day seemed the right thing to do.  What do we do in our community?  Well in the past year alone, we’ve gone scuba diving, snorkeling, stand up paddle boarding, surfing, golfing, tennis, pickleball, basketball, fishing, bike riding, joined a gym, ball hockey and of course our regular Friday happy hours with amigos.
